“Men shall be cultivated first, then coffee”, says one of the mottos that guide the life of YUBA. The documentary follows both unique and universal stories that exist in this community located in the countryside of São Paulo. Founded in 1935 under egalitarian precepts, wealth is equally divided and the food is for everyone. In the midst of rural life, dedication to art and prayer, the documentary merges the life of the peasants with a theatrical play put on by themselves that alludes to the conflict between modernity and the archaic.
